Ryan White Services

Health Brigade offers Ryan White Part B case management services for people living with HIV. The services are free and confidential. Our program provides the following services:

    • Ongoing case management and goal setting
    • One-time emergency financial assistance*
    • Food vouchers
    • Transportation assistance
    • Linkage to medical care and medication (HB does not provide HIV medical care)
    • Referrals to needed services
    • Additional case management services for people living with HIV who have been released from incarceration in the last year
    • Eligibility for VA MAP program

*We are not a housing agency but we can provide a one time rental payment based on eligibility. Please note that it can take up to 2 weeks to process a financial request and remit payment.

Do I qualify for Ryan White services?

If you receive VA MAP services, you qualify for our Ryan White services. Otherwise you have to be living with HIV and earn less than 500% of the federal poverty level, which you can find here https://aspe.hhs.gov/topics/poverty-economic-mobility/poverty-guidelines  If you have any questions, please scroll down for information about how to contact us.

How do I make an appointment to become a Ryan White client?

Please be advised that HB is not taking new clients at this time. Please complete our appointment request form to be placed on the waitlist.

You can contact us a number of ways:

  • Phone: 804-358-6343. Follow the prompts for case management services.

Once you reach out to us, we will get back to you within two business days. We will ask you some screening questions to make sure are prepared for your first visit. We will then schedule you for an appointment. Please make sure to bring the following to your first visit:

  • An unexpired identification card
  • 2 months of paystubs or any other documentation of income
  • Proof of HIV status or the name of your doctor and doctor’s office
  • Your medical insurance card
I am a service provider, how do I refer a client into Ryan White services?

Please contact our RW case management team at (804) 533-4028. They will consider your request and send a link to our referral portal.

If we accept your referral, we require 2 business days to process your request. After processing, it can take up to two weeks to issue payment for financial assistance. For full client referrals it can take up to two business days for us to reach out to the client. Please let them know that someone will be calling them from Health Brigade.

EFA only referrals: We communicate directly with case managers to let them know if the request is approved or denied.
